Joseph G. Duffy

Joseph G. Duffy of Reading passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the Winchester Hospital. He was 79 years of age.
Born in Brockton, Joseph was the son of the late Albert V. and Katherine (Lynch) Duffy. Joe was a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Joe was in the insurance business all his life. He was an insurance broker working for the O'Brien Insurance Company for many years. He was a member of the Reading Board of Selectmen for 2 years, a Reading Town Meeting Member and Past Grand Knight of the Reading Council 1031 Knights of Columbus. Joe was a United States Veteran serving our Country during the Korean Conflict.
Joe was the loving husband and of Eileen Mary (Nelson) Duffy. He was the devoted father of Paul Duffy and his wife Yang Sun of Reading, Brian Duffy and his wife Brigid of Lynn, Nancy Marshall and her husband William of Reading, David Duffy and his wife Michelle of Bradford N.H., Jennifer Gramzow and her husband William of Reading, Melissa Borden and her husband Dell of Kennebunk, ME, Andrew Duffy and his wife Lori of Wareham, Matthew Duffy and his wife Erika of Reading, Stephen Duffy and his wife Kathleen of N. Andover and Amy Duffy of Medford. He was the cherished grandfather of eighteen grandchildren and dear brother of James W. Duffy of Franklin and Bishop Paul F. Duffy of Zambia.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Monday at 8 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Joe's life in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn Street, Reading at 9 am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6 p.m. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
