Joseph Edward Dunn

November 26, 1925 — December 7, 2006

Joseph E. Dunn of North Reading passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Boston Medical Center in Boston. He was 81 years of age.





Born in Winchester, Joseph was the dear son of the late Frank J. Dunn and Catherine (Daley) Dunn. Joseph was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.





Joseph grew up in Reading. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1944 after high school. Joseph loved being a Marine. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal. His true love was for his family. They were first and foremost in his life.





Joseph was the dedicated owner of Dunn's Dairy Products. His wife and son would occasionally travel with him on his delivery routes. Joseph was a very outgoing man and an avid Red Sox fan. He was a devoted member of the Reading American Legion, VFW and DAV.





Joseph was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Murphy) Dunn. He was the devoted father of Joseph E. Dunn Jr. of North Reading. Joseph was the dear brother of the late Francis J. "Fran" Dunn Jr., J. Edmund "Ned" Dunn, Wilfred M. "Bill" Dunn, D. James "Jim" Dunn, Margaret M. Dee, George R. Dunn and Marianne C. "Mae" Roberts. He was also survived by many loving niece and nephews.





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Tuesday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Joseph's life in St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St. N. Reading at 10:30am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
