Joseph (Joe) P. Leccese, a lifelong resident of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 4th, 2026, at his home, with his family by his side after a courageous battle with ALS - FTD. He was 45 years of age.
Joe was most often called "Coach Joe". He spent many years coaching Anthony's hockey, baseball, and soccer teams, as well as sat on the board for Stoneham Youth Hockey. He cherished being a "Dance Dad" for Francesca. Joe was a proud member of the IBEW Local 103 for many years. Joe's love for his family was brightest in his planning of every Disney vacation, down to every matching t-shirt. Joe also enjoyed time on the beach or by the pool, playing golf, and his Fantasy Football League.
Joe is the beloved husband of Melissa (Gregorio) Leccese. He is the loving and cherished father of Anthony and Francesca, and of course his dog Nino. He is the son of Joseph G. Leccese and the departed Eileen (McHugh) Leccese. He is the dear brother of Kerry Lecesse and her partner Paul Russo. He is the uncle of Eva and Isabella. He is also survived by his stepmother Elaine, son-in-law of Susan and Richard Gregorio, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Joseph's Eternal Life will be held on Thursday, September 10th, 2026 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. STONEHAM at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026 from 3 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.
