Monestere, Joseph T. "Joe"- Of Medford,  Aug 14. Beloved husband of 61 years to Connie (Toppi). Father of Diane Monestere-Gauthier and her husband Thomas of Wilmington and Adrienne Monestere of NH. Grandfather of Vincent and Jaiden. Brother of Marianne Morasco and her husband Chuck, William Monestero, Jeanie Mataljian and her husband Tony, James Meehan Jr. and his companion Arletta, Richard Meehan and his wife Ellen, Martha White and her husband Kenneth, Robert Meehan and Linda Lynch all of Nebraska. Joe is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews as far away as Alaska. Relatives and friends are most respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 114 High St., Medford on Wednesday Aug. 20 at 10am. Visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28) NORTH READING, at Reading line, on Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery Everett. Joe was a devoted husband, father, friend, neighbor and employee. Joe was a committed Massachusetts employee for 52 years, retiring at the age of 80 in 2008. In 1997 he received a citation from Governor William Weld for his years of dedication and service to the citizens of Massachusetts as a Project Manager in Process Engineering at the MWRA. In a world of people calling for help, Joe was the man on the other line ready to help. He was unassuming, yet magnetic. He was gentle but strong. He always had a smile, a wink, a joke or a cheery statement for everyone. This world mourns his loss while the next applauds his arrival.
