Joseph Prew of Reading passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2003 at Lexington Health Care Center, Lexington.
Born in Revere, Joseph was a resident of Reading for 37 years. He was a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all. He loved his family and especially enjoyed attending sporting events both for his son and his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan.
Mr. Prew was employed at General Builders Lumber Company as a comptroller. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who proudly served our Country.
Mr. Prew was the loving husband of Rita (Castaldo) Prew. He was the devoted father of Joseph M. Prew and his wife Susan (Brennan) of Reading. He was the cherished grandfather of Jaclyn and Joseph and the dear brother of Margaret Colleran and her husband Patrick of Norwood, Gerard Prew and his wife Patricia of Carver, the late Robert Prew of Winthrop and the dear brother-in-law of Marjorie (Grady) Prew of Winthrop. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours in the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 11 Linden St. Reading Thursday from 4-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading. Interment Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
