Joseph C. Prizio

December 24, 1929 — July 1, 2008

Joseph C. Prizio, Sr. of Woburn passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Leahy Clinic in Burlington. He was 78 years of age.





Born in Cambridge, Joseph was the loving son of Rosina (Imperato) Prizio and the late Nicholas Prizio. Joseph was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.





Joseph was a retired member of Teamsters Local 25. He worked as a truck driver and warehouse manager. He also worked for Bank of Boston as a Freight Auditor. He retired from Cass System and was an office manager for Mal's Towing.





During the Korean War, Joseph proudly defended our freedom by serving as an MP in the United States Army.





Joseph was an active member of St. Anthony Choir in Woburn. He was also a member of the James A. Logan Post, VFW 6800 in Somerville and the Woburn Sportsmen's Associates. He loved to cook and garden. He loved watching the Red Sox and Patriots and being with his family.





Joseph was the Beloved husband of Rose J. (Uglietto) Prizio. Loving Son of Rosina Prizio and the late Nicholas Prizio. Devoted father of Nicholas C. Prizio and his wife Janet of Holliston, Joseph C. Prizio, Jr. and his wife Gail of Woburn, Elizabeth R. Argento and her husband Patrick of NJ and Peter N. Prizio and his wife Kathleen of IN. Cherished grandfather of Karen Prizio, Joseph Prizio, III, Nicholas, Miranda, Annalise Prizio and Patrick Argento. Dear brother of the late Anthony N. Prizio. Joseph was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.





Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Joseph's life in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn at 11am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Thursday 3-8 pm. Parking attendants will be available. Internment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
