Joseph R. "Dick" Molinari of Medford and Stoneham passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 17, 2014 in Concord. He was 73 years of age.
Born in Boston, Dick was the son of the late Joseph R. and Anne (Burke) Molinari. He graduated from Medford High School in 1958. Dick played basketball, track and baseball during high school. He was a great athlete who also played tennis.
Dick worked for 42 years at Channel 5 WHDH in Boston, Dorchester and WCVB in Needham. He retired as Chief Assignment Editor. He traveled all over the world with his wife and family. After retirement, he volunteered at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for many years and Hallmark Health Hospice for many years. He was also a Lector at St. Patrick Church in Stoneham for many years.
Dick was the beloved husband of Ann Marie (Doherty) Molinari. He was the devoted father of Donna Frano and her husband Mark of Pembroke, John Molinari and his wife Josie of Methuen and Patricia Venti and her husband Adam of Shirley. Dick was the cherished grandfather of Kristen Frano, Scott Frano, Isabella Venti, Matthew Venti, Christopher Molinari and Brenna Molinari. He was the loving brother of Jane Nestor and her husband John of Salem, NH, James Molinari and his wife Donna of Burlington and Judith Molinari Wynn and her husband Kevin of Georgetown. Dick is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 8 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Dick's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 9 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
