Joseph D. Sullivan

August 20, 1938 — December 31, 2013

Joseph D. Sullivan of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was 75 years of age.

Born on August 20, 1938 in Arlington, Joseph was the loving son of the late George and Mary Sullivan. Joseph was a warm and caring son and friend. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Sully was a retired letter carrier from the Stoneham Post Office. He was a loyal Crossing Guard for the Town of Stoneham. Sully was a lifetime member of the Somerville City Club. During The Korean War, Sully proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Private in the United States Marine Corps.

Sully will be greatly missed by his dear friends Al and Jean Tammaro and his many loving friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 8-9:30 am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM (Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available) followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Joseph's Eternal life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Interment with Military Honors Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
