Josephine A. (Granfield) Goldin

Josephine A. (Granfield) Goldin of Medford passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026 in the arms of her beloved partner. She was 77 years of age.

Born on Friday, August 13, 1948 in Boston, Josephine was daughter of the late John Granfield and Josephine (Tuminelli) Granfield and step-daughter of Margaret Granfield. Josephine was a dedicated, thoughtful, and intelligent partner, mother, nana, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Josephine was the beloved partner of Lydia Capano and the dedicated mother of Sarah Goldin. The cherished grandmother of Athena, August and Emilia Eder and mother in law of Suzie Eder. Josephine was the sister of Stephen Granfield and the late Gerald Granfield. She is the dearest friend of Patricia Scully and the adored niece of Eleanor Razzaboni.

Josephine graduated from Winchester High school and went on the receive a BA from UMass Amherst and her Masters in Secondary Education from Lesley College. She was a lifelong teacher, educating students in Arlington and Andover, Massachusetts. She most enjoyed afternoons in her garden, endless walks along the shoreline, and exploring new destinations. She will be remembered dearly as asking "tell me three things about your day" and settling in with a cup of tea to hear the answer.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Josephine's Family on Saturday, August 8th from 9am - 11am in the Barile - Cota Family Funeral Home, 335 Park Street (corner of Park Street and RT 28), North Reading, at Reading line. A Funeral Service Celebrating Josephine's Eternal Life will be held at 11am in the Funeral Home. Interment Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.
