Joyce M. (Gray) Emero

Joyce M. (Gray) Emero of Reading, formerly of Gloucester, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 at her home. She was 76 years of age.

Born in Brooklin, Maine, Joyce was the daughter of the late Albert B. and Margaret (Campbell) Gray.

Joyce was an avid bowler, and she loved playing pool where she won many awards. She was a Women's Class C Champion golfer at Bass Rocks Golf Club in Gloucester. Joyce spent her summers in Kennebunkport, Maine for many years walking Goose Rocks Beach and local preserves with her husband. She enjoyed coloring Easter eggs, carving pumpkins and all other Holidays with her family and grandchildren. Joyce treasured time with her sisters, she enjoyed hosting them and shopping with them. She graduated from Morse High School, Class of 1953. While a student, Joyce worked at Rock Gardens Inn in Sebasco Estates, Maine.

Joyce was the beloved wife for 57 years of Roland F. Emero. She was the devoted mother of Michael F. Emero and his wife Dianne of VA, Mark T. Emero and his wife Nancy of Wakefield, Bruce D. Emero of TX, Brian D. Emero and his wife Mary Kay of Chelmsford and David R. Emero and his wife Elizabeth of NJ. Joyce was the cherished grandmother of 10 and loving great grandmother of 3. She was the dear sister of Ruth Lewis and her husband Harry of ME, Anne Carter and her late husband Joel of NH, Jane Gower and her husband Gibb of ME, David Gray and his wife Debra of ME and the late Francis, Albert, Robert and Edward Gray. She was the sister-in-law of Gloria Gray and Beverly Gray.

A Funeral Service celebrating Joyce's life will be held on Friday at 10 am in the Chapel of the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 4-7pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and handicapped entrance are available. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
