Joyce M. (Thornton) Holt

Joyce M. (Thornton) Holt, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 1, 2022. 

Joyce was a 2009 graduate of the Frances Perkins Scholars Program at Mount Holyoke College and graduated from the Women in Politics and Public Policy Program at the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2010. 

Joyce is the beloved wife of the late Kenneth A. Holt. She is the cherished mother of Lawrence S. Viola, Luke P. Viola, Nicholas P. Holt and the late Christopher Viola. Grandmother of 5 and great grandmother of 3. Daughter of the late John F. and Grace G. (Matthews) Thornton. Dear sister of the late Janet T. Halladay, and Joanne F. Najvar. 

Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING on Wednesday December 7th, 2022 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Joyce’s Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Interment Woodend Cemetery, Reading. 

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Tuesday December 6th, 2022 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.
