Emma Ellen Joyce (Simms) St. Amand of Stoneham passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Glenridge Nursing Center in Medford. She was 87 years of age.
Born on April 27, 1929 in Cambridge Joyce was the loving daughter of the late Norman Simms and Beulah A. (Roop) Simms. Joyce was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Joyce was the beloved wife of the late George St. Amand. She was the devoted mother of Irene Thomas and her husband George and the late George J. St. Amand and his surviving wife Ruth. The cherished grandmother of Nadine St. Amand, Michael Robinson, Jessica St. Amand and the late Christine Marie McGowen, Joyce was the doting great grandmother of Starr, Emily, Napoleon, Joshua and Kassidy. She was the dear sister of the late Curtis Simms, Phyllis Welch, Robert Simms and John Simms. Joyce was also survived by her loving nieces Gloria, Georgia, Elizabeth, Janine, Marie and Jeanette as well as her nephews Edmond, Paul and Michael. She was the sister in law of the late Ruth Lagasse.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Joyce's Eternal Life will be held on Wednesday, February 1st at 12pm in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visitation with the Family will be held prior to the Service, beginning at 11am. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
