Joyce (Bispham) Thorne

Joyce Thorne, loving wife of the late Dennison Thorne, the beloved mother of the late Trevor Thorne, Daleanne & her husband Derrick (Tony) Jones, Rawle Thorne, adoptive daughter Joy Riely; passed away peacefully on September 18, 2020 amongst a family like team at Bear Hill Nursing and Rehab in Stoneham, MA.

Joyce was the loving Grandmother of Vanessa Schrebler and her husband Alex, Cavel Thorne, Akeem Thorne, Kesha Thorne, Angelica and Anna Jones, and Isiah Thorne. She was also the proud Great-Grandmother of Alexis and Trevor Schrebler.

Born April 14, 1939 in Georgetown, Guyana South America to Marie and Randolf Bispham. Joyce was a dear sister to the late Enid Hamilton, the late Daphne Alabaster, late Ivin Hinds, Cecil and Darell.

In 1984 Joyce immigrated to the United States where she worked for many years at the then New England Memorial Hospital. Joyce later retired from Melrose Wakefield Hospital in 2001.

In the following years Joyce enjoyed life residing in Stoneham, MA where she attended the Stoneham Seventh Day Adventist Church. Joyce also enjoyed frequenting the shops of Redstone Shopping plaza also in Stoneham. When not shopping or attending church she'd spend quite time at her home cooking up numerous delicious Guyanese cuisine for family gatherings and dinners.

Joyce was loved by friends and family including her many nieces and nephews: Patricia, Herbert, Bernard, Brian, Donna, Desery, Colin, Roxanne, Edwin
Lindrey, Rennison, Joy, and Lincoln.

A Funeral Service Celebrating Joyce's Eternal Life will be held at the Stoneham Seventh Day Adventist Church, 29 Maple St, Stoneham, on Thursday, September 24th, 2020 at 11am. Interment will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Joyce's Family at the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St., Stoneham on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020 from 4 to 8pm. Parking attendants and elevator are available.

Face coverings must be worn at all times while in the funeral home and guests are required to follow safe social distancing guidelines. Per MA regulations, no more than 25 people will be allowed in the funeral home at one time.
