Julie C. (Lyon) Newton, of North Reading, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 7th, 2026. She was 78 years of age.

Julie loved playing tennis with her tennis groups, loved reading, and gardening.   Planting and shopping for plants made her go into her own little world.  She would garden for hours until she dropped.  Instead of shopping till you dropped, she would garden till she dropped.  

 Julie is the beloved wife of the late Robert Newton III. He is the cherished father of Rob Newton, of North Reading, and Christine Newton and her fiance Jed Miskevitch, of Billerica. Dear sister of Lawrence Lyon and his wife Ann, of FL, and the late Jimmy Lyon and his late wife Nancy and the late John Lyon, all of RI. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.,
