Karen Ann (Hatje) Christo of North Reading, formerly of Wakefield, passed away on Thursday March 29, 2007 at the Winchester Hospital. She was 56 years old.
Karen has blessed this world by leaving behind her son, Scott Melanson of Minnesota, her daughter Michele "Mickey" (Melanson) Mara and her husband Greg of Bedford and her blessed grandsons Alexander Charles Melanson and Bryce Evan Melanson, as well as her long time friend and husband Paul Christo. She was also the dear cousin to Bob Dubois.
Karen was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (DuBois) Hatje and the dear sister of the late Sonny Hatje and Beverly Christensen.
Her greatest accomplishment and pride in life are her two children and being called "Marmen"
Karen is best known for her poetry that she has written for many friends and family. She was an avid writer and loved her poetry.
She has worked over the past 10 years at TransUnion as Department Manager. She considered everyone there her "family" and loved her job.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Karen's life in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6pm. Parking attendants will be on duty.
