Goulet, Katherine Mary "Kay" –Of Reading, May 27 ^th , passed away peacefully at home, at age 99 from Lymphoma. Kay was born in Dorchester, MA on March 30, 1918 to Alice (Doherty) and Thomas E. Conway. Kay was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Augustus "Gus" Goulet, in 1998. She is survived by her children Larry Goulet of Reading, Mary of Concord, NH and Kathy and her husband Tick Withington of West Newbury. Her grandchildren Theresa, Morgan, Evan, Paige, Lily, and Rachel and great-grandchildren MacKenzie, Ashlyn, Robbie, Maddie, and Sam. Son-in-law Walter Pierce and daughter-in-law Marcia Goulet. She was predeceased by her children Thomas and Roberta (Pierce), her brothers Thomas Conway and Robert Conway. Kay is also survived by many extended family members and friends. Kay became a secretary after attending Bryant and Stratton Commercial School of Boston and worked for New England Gas and Electric where she met many lifelong friends. After raising her five children she returned to work as a medical secretary. Kay belonged to and studied with various handwork guilds. Her hands were always busy with knitting, sewing, quilting, crewel work, embroidery, or rug-making. Kay and Gus were dedicated members of St. Athanasius Parish. Kay was a 40 year breast cancer survivor and overcame melanoma more than 20 years ago. Her funeral will be from the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28) North Reading, at Reading line on Saturday, June 3 ^rd at 9:30am. Her Funeral Mass will be held in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., at 10:30am. Relatives and friends may visit the funeral home on Friday, June 2 ^nd from 4-8pm. Interment Wood End Cemetery, Reading. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kay's name to VNA of Middlesex East, 607 North Ave. Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880, or the charity of one's choice.
