Katheryne Jane Fortini

Katheryne Jane (Danielson) Fortini, 70, beloved wife of 38 years to Robert A. Fortini, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Winchester Hospital. Born in Boston, she was the loving daughter of Leslie and Jane (Taylor) Danielson.

Katheryne was a graduate of Burlington High School, class of 65', and then attended and graduated from Carnegie Institute, class of 67'. For many years, Katheryne worked as a lab technician. She began her career at Winchester Hospital, then worked for Lawrence Memorial, Symmes Hospital, and retired from Lahey Clinic in Arlington.

Katheryne and Robert were life members of the Medford Boat Club where she enjoyed spending time with friends and playing Ladies Day Bocci. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making American Girl Doll clothes with her mother Jane. Katheryne enjoyed going on cruises with family, vacationing in Maine, and baking. She was a lover of lobster rolls and making her special peanut butter fudge at the holidays.

She was the loving mother of Franklin P. R. Bartlett and his wife Melissa, and Anita Jane K. Wood and her husband Bradley. Cherished grandmother of Dorothy Rose Bartlett, Zoe Katheryne Bartlett and Taylor Sara Wood. Loving sister of Patricia A. Duke.

Funeral service will be held in the Barile Family Funeral Home Chapel, 482 Main St. (Rt. 28) Stoneham, on Friday, July 6th at 11 AM. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the family in the funeral home on Thursday, July 5th from 4 to 8pm. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
