Kathleen A. (Canniff) Jordan

d. June 17, 2014

Kathleen A. (Canniff), Jordan 70 of Stoneham, Massachusetts died peacefully at home on June 17, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. Predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Patrick F. Jordan, Jr., she is survived by her children Patrick and Katherine Jordan; Colleen and Brian Shinney; Kimberly and Paul Plourde; Eileen and Timothy Madigan; and Meaghan and Todd Meyers. She leaves her loving grandchildren Patrick and Riley Jordan; Mathew Shinney; Jennifer and Julia Plourde; Maggie, Thomas, and Molly Madigan; and Jack, Keira, and Delaney Meyers. She is also survived by her sisters Elaine Coggins and Jeannine DuPont; sister-in-laws Mary (Jordan) Reardon and Noreen (Jordan) Donovan, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Francis and Angeline (Goulet) Canniff.

Born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Kathy attended Our Lady of Pity and Notre Dame High School in Cambridge, where she graduated valedictorian. At Notre Dame she met her high school sweetheart, Pat, whom she married. Kathy was a mischievous child, always entertaining an audience, which continued throughout her life. She spent summer vacations in Ogunquit, Maine at Littlefield's Village, where as an adult she had the fortune to own a cottage and spend summers with her children as well as her large extended family. She breathed fun into life and some of her fondest times were spent with great friends in Bridgeton, Maine. Kathy turned ordinary events into a party and "held court" wherever she found herself. A generous and kind person, Kathy gave to those in need, even when she had very little, and her home was always open to friends and strangers alike.

Kathy was proprietor of Kathy Jordan & Associates, a real estate appraisal company. She was a licensed realtor and worked many years selling real estate in and around Stoneham. Kathy was fortunate enough to travel to many places and visited Ireland and Aruba several times. Her greatest memories involved gatherings with family and friends, where song and celebration were center. Kathy loved a good time and was always the life of the party.

Kathy's final request, "everyone, please, instead of flowers take a friend to lunch."
