Kenneth Gillis

Kenneth A. Gillis of Reading passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was 84 years of age. Born in Medford, Ken was the loving son of the late William G. Gillis and Helen (Briggs) Gillis. Ken was a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Ken was a dedicated salesman for many years. During the Korean Conflict, Ken proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.

Ken was the beloved husband of Mary (Tonra) Gillis. He was the devoted father of Patricia Coppola and her husband Bill, Paula Ojemann and her husband Michael, Judi Paffenbarger and her husband Andy, Nancy Hendel and her husband Jeffrey, Jo-Anne Christopher and her husband Joe, Kathleen Gillis and her husband Douglas Luf, Joanne Carol Taylor. Ken was the cherished grandfather of Rachel, Tom, Abbey, Maggie, Elizabeth, Alex, Taylor, Hayley, Ken, Peter, Claire, Greta and August.

Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Kenneth's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:30am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 4-7pm in the Funeral Home. Handicapped entrance and parking attendants are available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
