Mrs. Laureen P. (Giarrizzo) Sherman, of Stoneham, died Sunday, April 19, 2020 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading after a struggle with Parkinson disease at the age of 74.
Laureen was born on June 5, 1945 in Malden, MA, a daughter of Italian immigrants Joseph and Grace (Zagaria) Giarrizzo. Raised in Wakefield she was a graduate of Wakefield High School. She married Roy M. Sherman on September 25, 1971 in Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield.
Professionally Laureen worked as an administrator for the parts department at Crest Buick for many years and later as a secretary for Barrington Management.
Laureen loved to travel with Roy and always looked forward to a trip to the warmer weather and the ocean. Social by nature she loved the company of her friends and various outings. She kept active daily with walks and was a wonderful cook true to her Italian heritage. She will be lovingly remembered as a terrific mother, awesome grammie and an absolutely great wife.
She suffered the unimaginable losses with the deaths of her three children, Kevin J. Sherman, Christopher A. Sherman and Tiffany A. Sherman. In heaven she has been reunited with them.
In addition to her husband of 49 years. Roy she leaves her daughter-in-laws Christie Sherman and Theresa Sherman; her grandchildren, Sierra, Casidy, Brooklyn, Kayla and Roy; her brother, Larry Giarrizzo; her step sister Lucille Triplett, the late Betty Richards, the late Joseph Pica; and many nieces and nephews.
At this time, services will be held privately with a Celebration of Laureen's Life to be held at a later date.
