Laurene A. (Boyd) Gadbois of Reading, age 81, passed away on July 20, 2016. Laurene was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Laurene's loving family are saddened by their loss of such an amazing woman who was a valued resident of Reading for 81 years. Laurene contributed greatly to the community by serving the Scholarship Foundation of Reading as well as organizing the Reading High School reunions for her graduating class. She also gave to the community by volunteering in the town elections for many years. In addition Laurene had a lifelong interest in Veteran Affairs and served as a DAV Auxiliary Officer. She was also praised for carrying on the program of flowers for Veterans on Memorial Day and was instrumental in raising funds for this program.
Laurene was the devoted wife of the late Edward I. Gadbois. Beloved mother of Diane L. Quijada and her husband Ernie and Debra L. Powers and her husband John. Cherished grandmother of Sean E. Powers, Ryan P. McCann and his wife Andrea, Michael J. Powers, Chelsy R. McCann, McKenzie L. Stamper and her husband Jesse, and the late Jacqualine Quijada and Ernie Quijada III. Laurene is also survived by 3 great grandchildren Ernie Quijada IV, Cal Stamper and Wynn Stamper. She was the caring sister of Paula Clark and her husband Jay, and the late Barbara Moorman and June Britton.
The Celebration of Laurene Gadbois Life will begin on Thursday, July 28th where friends and family are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family from 4-8pm in the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home. A funeral Service Celebration will be held on Friday, July 29th at 10am at the Chapel of the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden Streeet Reading followed by interment at Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading.
