Lawrence L. Doucette

June 11, 1925 — November 15, 2011

Lawrence L. Doucette of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Winchester Hospital. He was 86 years of age.





Born in Reading, Lawrence was the loving son of the late Eli Doucette and Mary (Muise) Doucette. Lawrence was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.





Lawrence was the President of Historic Iris Preservation Society. He was a master gardener. Lawrence was a member of A.I.M. of Wilmington. He enjoyed computer web design and photography. During the Korean War, Lawrence proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army.





Lawrence was the beloved husband of the late Jean (Smith) Doucette. He was the devoted father of David Doucette and his wife Barbara, Suzanne Rude and her husband Curtiss, Valerie Sydell and her husband Cliff. Lawrence was the cherished grandfather of Valerie Rude, Elizabeth Rude, Michelle Doucette, Christopher Sydell and Amy Doucette. He was the dear brother of Harold Doucette and his wife Ann, Pauline VanSchalkwyk and the late William, Arthur and Wilbur Doucette. He was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and his close friends, Helen Dacey, Lillian Brown and Mike Elia.





Funeral from the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Lawrence's Eternal Life in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave. Wilmington at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday from 3-7pm in the Funeral Home. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
