Lawrence J. McCue, 80, of Dublin, Ohio (formerly of Reading and North Andover, Massachusetts) died on September 26th, 2010.
He was born to the late Thomas and Marie McCue of Dorchester.
Larry graduated from Boston College and received his Law degree from Suffolk University Law School graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Larry was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army while serving during the Korean War.
He retired from the United States Treasury in 1986 and then taught, part time, at Massachusetts School of Law and as a guest speaker at other Law Schools including Boston College and Suffolk Law Schools.
Larry is survived by his wife Mary "Carol" McCue of Dublin, Ohio where they recently celebrated 53 years of marriage. He is also survived by his five sons: Kevin and his wife Maureen, of Dublin Ohio were with him as he passed away and fortunate to spend significant time with Larry and see the impact he had on everyone who met him, as he always had a smile in his eyes. His other sons include: Lawrence Jr. and his wife Maria of California, Peter of New Hampshire, Robert of Colorado and Brian of Massachusetts.
Larry is also survived by six grandchildren. Ella, of Dublin Ohio was his special "little girl" and always wanted to go see and play with her "Grandpa" as they shared a special bond.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: brothers Vincent, John, Leo and Gerry and his sister Marie.
Special thanks to the Staff and families of Emerald Crossing and Odyssey Hospice for taking such great care of Larry and support for Carol and the rest of the family.
There will be a funeral service at Barile Family Funeral Home located at 11 Linden Street, Reading Massachusetts on Saturday October 16th at 10:30 in the morning with a reception immediately following.
In Lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
