Obituary

DeLollis, Leo V. 96, of Peabody and Newton, loving husband for 66 years of Alba "Dawn" (Amari) DeLollis, died peacefully on September 23 rd . Born and raised in Boston, he was a graduate of English High School and the Lowell Institute at MIT. He spent his career as a mechanical engineer for Stone and Webster, where he worked on the Yankee Rowe Nuclear Power Station in Rowe, MA, the first nuclear power plant built in New England. Leo was a Squadron Commander in the Army Air Corps in WWII. He and Dawn lived most of their married life in Newton, where for many years they delivered Meals on Wheels. He is the beloved son of the late Peter and Mary DeLollis; beloved brother of the late Blaise DeLollis, Carmella Bernardini, Agatha Franchini, and John DeLollis; and beloved uncle of Marian DeLollis, Sister Julie Franchi, Robert Franchi and his wife Cheryl, Rita St. Germain and her husband Tom, Mark Christianson and his wife Mardith, and the late Pamela Bernardini. Leo also leaves behind seven loving grand-nieces and grand-nephews and four great-grand nephews. He was predeceased by his grand-nephew Thomas Davidson. Relatives and friends may visit at the Funeral Home on Saturday, October, 1 st from 10am-12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1 Bulfinch Pl #201, Boston, MA 02114.
