Leo R. Yuskus

Leo R. Yuskus of Woburn, Massachusetts, passed away at home on Sunday, August 23, 2026 with family by his side. He is a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed. He was 86 years old.

Leo is the beloved son of the late John Yuskus and Lillian McLeod. Loving husband of the late Marilyn (Chambers) Yuskus, the dear father of Thomas Yuskus, Linda (Yuskus) Cavarretta and her husband Frank, Kathleen (Yuskus) Gallagher, John Yuskus and his late wife Maureen Kane, and the late Debi Yuskus. He is the cherished brother of Annette Cunningham and her late husband Robert. Leo is the beloved grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren

Leo loved spending time with his wife Marilyn whether they were going for rides, visiting casinos, being together with family. His passion for motorcycles took them to Laconia Bike Week each year, where he cherished time spent with family and friends. Leo also admired fast cars, often going for drives in his Porsche with Marilyn or spending afternoons watching NASCAR races. Additionally, he truly enjoyed playing pool and participated in many competitions with his team / friends.

Professionally, Leo had an incredible work ethic. He began his career as a civil engineer in 1962 with Haley and Ward, where he inspected his first water tank in North Adams in 1965. After retiring from the firm in 2017, he continued to work through his own professional service company until his final retirement in 2022. Leo was a highly respected engineer and was proud that many of his municipal clients became personal friends.

Above all, Leo was a family man who treasured the holidays. Having the entire family gathered together made him truly happy.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Leo's family on Tuesday, September 1, from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM on Wednesday, September 2 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Leo's Eternal Life in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street Stoneham at 10am. Interment Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
