Leon Alfred Soule of Reading and Liberty Maine passed away Sunday April 3, 2005 in Maine with his family. He was 69 years of age.
Born in Taunton, Massachusetts he was the loving son of the late Leon H. and Dorothy (Bickers) Soule. Leon was a warm and caring son, husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all.
Leon was a retired letter carrier for the United States Post Office in Reading and Middleboro. He was also employed by Reading Care Co. - Sunoco Station. He proudly served our country in the United States Army, National Guard and Air Force from 1953 to 1987.
Leon was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Passaconaway Golf Club. He was a member of the Reading American Legion, D.A.V., Reading Knights of Columbus, and Taunton Lodge of Elks.
He was the beloved husband of the late Marcia (Harish) Soule-Hall. He was the devoted father of Alan L. Soule and his wife Joyce of Wilton, ME., Nancy E. Soule and her fiance Christopher McEvoy of Liberty, ME., Jeffrey L. Soule of Liberty Me., and Leslie A. Miller of Rumford, ME. And cherished grandfather of David , Kara, Lynda , Jessica , James Soule and Christopher Soule-Miller. He was the dear brother of Alton and Dorothy Soule of Rumford, R.I., William and Charlotte Soule of Attleboro, William Thomas and Beverly Soule of Duxbury, John Soule of Raynham, Charles and Lori Soule of Rehoboth and his beloved sister Kathryn Drapeau and husband Roger. He is pre deceased by his second Mother Iva (Coutcher) Soule and his son James Michael Soule and also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving extended family.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Thursday 2-4and 7-9 pm. in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home 350 Somerset Ave. TAUNTON and Friday from 3-7pm in the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING with a Memorial Service to be held at 6 p.m. Parking available in municipal lot on Haven St behind Atlantic Supermarket.
