Lois E. (Amo) MacKenzie, of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Friday January 14, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.
Born in Stoneham, Lois is the daughter of the late Clarence and Minnie (Campbell) Amo. Lois was a graduate of Stoneham High School class of 1947. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 115, Senior Center 60+ Club and Bowling League.
Lois was a long time employee of Precision Metal Products in Stoneham and Peabody.
Lois enjoyed camping in the White Mountains and yearly trips to Old Orchard Beach, Maine with family for lobster and shopping. Lois liked knitting and crocheting making afghans and sweaters. She also liked to do ceramics. She loved to give them as gifts to family. She enjoyed playing games and had many heated Scrabble matches with her sister Marguerite. She liked playing cards and cribbage was a favorite. Lois enjoyed golfing and dancing with her companion Peter Billert. She enjoyed spending time with his family. Lois liked to go out to a restaurant or simply go for a ride anywhere. Lois will be missed by her family and friends.
Lois is the beloved wife of the late Donald C. MacKenzie. She is the cherished mother of Wanda L. Fairfield and her late husband Cliff and the late Kenneth C. MacKenzie and his surviving wife Linda. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey MacKenzie. Dear sister of the late Beatrice Doherty and her late husband Hugh, Marion Amo, Marguerite Thompson and her late husband Joseph, Phyllis Beattie and her late husband Harold, Dorothy Towse and her late husband Bob, Raymond Amo and his surviving wife Martha. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM on Friday January 21 from 11 am to 1 pm followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Lois' Eternal Life at 1 pm. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Parking attendants and elevator available.
