Loretta R. "Rita" (Asci) Leccese of Stoneham passed away on Friday, February 20, 2004 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 84 years of age.
Born in Stoneham, Rita became a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Antonio Asci and Angelina (Buono) Asci. Rita was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Rita liked gardening, she enjoyed all the beautiful flowers, however, her family was first and foremost in her life. She will be missed by all.
Rita's parents came to Stoneham at the turn of the 19th century. She was a resident of Pine Street for the past 84 years. Rita graduated from St. Patrick's School, where she was educated by the sisters of Province, which is currently St. Patrick's Convent.
Rita was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Leccese. She was the devoted mother of Thomas Leccese and his wife Mary of Wilmington, John Lecesse and his wife Judy of Stoneham, and William Leccese of Wilmington, the cherished grandmother of Thomas J.Leccese, David C. Leccese and Matthew R. Leccese, all of Wilmington and John H.Leccese, Michael T. Leccese, and Jay A. Leccese, and the dear sister of the late Amelio, Anthony and Ernest Asci, all of Stoneham.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Sunday 3-7pm. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
