Lorraine E. (Jewett) McGovern

Lorraine E. (Jewett) McGovern, of North Reading, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 7, 2025.

Lorraine loved to read and spend time working on crossword puzzles, activities that reflected her sharp mind and quick wit. She especially enjoyed gathering her family together and sharing time with those she loved—often with a cup of her favorite Dunkin’ Donuts coffee close at hand. Lorraine had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her sarcasm, warmth, and infectious laughter. Above all, she was a deeply loving and caring woman who would give the shirt off her back to help anyone in need.

Lorraine deeply loved her grandchildren and took great joy in being part of their lives. She shared an especially close and cherished bond with her great-granddaughter, Mikayla, who held a very special place in her heart.

Lorraine is beloved mother of Laurie Traya, Matthew Traya, Lynn Watkins, Leslie Payette, Brockton Payette and the late Lisa Murphy. Loving grandmother of Melissa Rubner and the late Brandy Rubner and great grandmother of Mikayla, Alexia, Ariana, Pablo and James. Dear sister of the late Fred.

At the request of the family, services will be held at a later date.
