Piacentini
June 29, 1949 – May 30, 2024
Louis P. Piacentini, of Burlington and formerly of Somerville, beloved husband of the late Mary (Wiley) Piacentini, passed away on Thursday, May 30th, 2024. Born in Somerville, he is the beloved son of the late Louis and Mary (Polito) Piacentini.
Louis grew up in Somerville and is a graduate of Somerville High School. Louis earned his Bachelor Degree from Salem State College and then continued his education at Boston State College and earned his Master's Degree, and then his CAGS from Suffolk University. Louis was a long time Director of Special Education for the Somerville School System until he retired. Upon retirement, he consulted for the Belmont School System.
Louis married his wife Mary and they settled in Burlington and raised their son Louis. Louis enjoyed cruises, traveling and time spent in Disney World and Martha's Vineyard. He loved to cook and bake from scratch as well as watching sports, especially the Red Sox; he never missed a game. Louis was also a Sergeant in the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts. His greatest joy came from being with his family. Louis created many fond memories of being together and great times.
Louis is the devoted father of Dr. Louis W. Piacentini of Burlington. Beloved brother of Jean Piacentini of Woburn. He also leaves many cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral to be held from the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading, (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Friday, June 7th, 2024 at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at St. Margaret's Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the funeral home on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 from 4 to 8pm.
