Louis J. Roffi

Louis J. Roffi of Reading passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. He was 92 years of age.

Born on March 13, 1923 in Cambridge, Louis was the loving son of the late Joseph Roffi and Ida (Vellucci) Roffi. Louis was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Louis was a dedicated accountant for many years. He proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during both World War II and the Korean War.

Louis was the beloved husband for 67 years of the late Nancy A. (DiRenzo) Roffi. The devoted father of Joseph Roffi and the late David Roffi, Louis was the loving father in law of Barbara Roffi and Jody Roffi. He was the cherished grandfather of Joseph Roffi Jr. and his wife Amanda, Jennifer McDonnell and her husband Matthew, Kevin Roffi and his wife Jennifer, Brian Roffi, Mark Roffi, Tom Palange and his wife Caitlin, Kirk Roffi and Marlena Roffi. The loving great grandfather of Sean Hall, Joseph Roffi, John Roffi and Delaney McDonnell, Louis was the dear brother of Lucy, Dolores and the late Mary. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Friday, June 5, 2015 at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Louis' Eternal Life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10:30am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance available.
