Lucille Frances (Solimine) Carpenter, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Friday May 20, 2022 with her family by her side. She was 77 years of age.
Born on March 24, 1945 in Revere, Lucille was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Polcari) Solimine. Lucille grew up in Medford on Francis Street and attended St. Francis Elementary School.
Upon graduation from Medford High School in 1963 Lucille attended Fischer College for a business course. She then worked as an executive secretary at Raytheon Company from 1996 to 1986 and eventually she joined her lifelong friend Carol Penta at Ivanhoe Insurance Agency. Lucille retired about three years ago when the agency closed.
Lucy married John Carpenter in July of 1978. While Lucy was at Raytheon, John came to the Wayland facility in February as a contractor. They lived in Billerica and Burlington before settling in Reading.
She actively supported her children Stephen, Kimberly and Christopher's extracurricular activities including band, track, softball, baseball and drama. She served as an officer in the high school's Parents Supporting Student Theater (PSST) group.
Lucille is the beloved wife of John Carpenter. She is the cherished mother of Stephen Carpenter, MD, PhD and his wife Jeanneriz Carpenter, Kimberly Carpenter and her husband Christopher Mancuso and Christopher Carpenter. Loving grandmother of Brook Aria Carpenter, Lukas John Carpenter and Eleanor Josie Mancuso. Dear sister of the late William Solomine, Rosemary Scavongelli and Joanne Buoncoure, and niece of the late Eleanor Mauriello and Olga Seymor. She is also survived by many loving nephews and many dear friends.
