Luke A. Camarota
October 21, 1923 — July 24, 2005
Luke A. Camarota Sr., 81 of Reading, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2005 after a brief illness. Beloved husband of his Pal, the late Josephine F. Camarota. Devoted father of Luke A. Camarota Jr. and wife Lynn, of North Andover, and their children Derek Camarota of North Andover, Michele Walsh and her husband Michael of Charlestown, and Katherine Camarota of North Andover. Michael A. Camarota and his wife Linda and their daughters Heather and Abigail Camarota of Bedford, NH. Luke also leaves a sister, Lucyann Roth of Hamden, CT.
Born and raised in Hamden, CT, Luke was President of his High School class and went on to play baseball at Syracuse University. He honorable served in the Army Air Corps in Italy and North Africa. He was a Salesman for the Turner Halsey Co. for over 30 years.
He and his late wife Jo were 50-year residents of Reading and familiar faces around town and Meadow Brook Golf Club where they spent many wonderful years. Luke was presented with an honorary membership to the club. He will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING, Wednesday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Athanasius Church in Reading. Visiting Hours Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8pm. Burial at Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
