Madeline "Madge" (Amato) D'Ambrosio , age 83, of Stoneham has passed into God's care on November 26, 2018. She was raised and educated in Boston's North End and graduated in 1953 from the former Julie Billiart Catholic High School.
She was the daughter of the late Umberto and Michelina (Petrone) Amato and niece of the late Divina "Dee" Carcione (Petrone) who was her second mother. She was the devoted wife of 45 years to the late Gerald "Gerry" D'Ambrosio, and loving mother of Linda Anthony and son-in-law Glenn, of Reading, Elaine Akerberg of Stoneham and Christopher D'Ambrosio and daughter-in-law Susan of Reading. Devoted grandmother of Joshua Anthony and his fiance Kristina Kirk, Matthew Anthony and his fiance Erin Caron, and Amanda Anthony, Nicholas and Gianna Akerberg and Thomas and Tyler D'Ambrosio. Dear cousin of the late Stephen and late Philip Carcione of Woburn and their families, and special friend and cousin, Kathy Carcione. Survived by a niece, a nephew, several cousins and in-laws.
Madge enjoyed decorative painting, crossword puzzles and trivia shows. She loved being with and vacationing with family and friends. She also loved her home and her Italian heritage, her Catholic faith and the many animals she enjoyed taking care of through the years.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday, December 1st at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Madge's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Friday, November 30th from 5-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
