Madeline C. (Innes) Rooney of Reading passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2005 at Winchester Hospital. She was 96 years of age.
Born on June 27, 1908 in Aberdeen, Scotland, she was the loving daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Calder) Innes. Madeline was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all.
Madeline was a dedicated homemaker for many years. Madeline was devoted to her family. They were first and foremost in her life.
Madeline was the beloved wife of the late George M. Rooney, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Patricia and her husband Fred J. Newell Jr. of Norcross, Georgia, Calder "Skip" Rooney and his wife Gail of North Reading, William Rooney and his wife Eleanor of Reading, Leslie and her husband Michael Corbin of North Reading and the late George A. Rooney. Madeline was the mother in law of Sandra Rooney and the cherished grandmother of George and Ronald Rooney, Debora Mason, Frederick J. Newell Jr., Lynn Sullivan, Scott Rooney, Jan Marie Rhein, Sandra Faber, William Rooney Jr., Karen LeBel, Brian, Meryll, and Lindsey Corbin. Madeline was the great grandmother of 10, the dear sister of the late Gustavus Innes, Harriet McKenzie, Frances Amari, Elizabeth Hall, John Innes and William Innes, and the sister in law of Peter Amari of Medford and Virginia Innes of Dennis.
A Celebration of Madeline's life will be held on Thursday at 10am in the Chapel of the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
