Mafalda (DiPietro) "Muffie" Benard of Reading passed away at her home on Sunday, July 23, 2006 at her home. She was 80 years of age.
Born in Montreal, Muffie was the loving daughter of the late Simon DiPietro and Pasqualine (Carobene) DiPietro. Muffie was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, niece, aunt and friend. She will be sorely missed.
Muffie was the dedicated owner of Salon Muffie in Reading for over 35 years. She was a devoted member of the Red Hat Society in Stoneham and the Wakefield Sons of Italy Lodge # 1734. Muffie enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods and her Monday Night Bowling League.
Muffie had a passion for her family. They were first and foremost in her life. Her love for them was unparalleled.
Muffie was the beloved wife of the late Denis Benard. She was the devoted mother Paul G. Benard and his wife Margaret of New Hampshire, and Denise M. Benard of Reading. Muffie was the dear sister of Helene (DiPietro) Martin and her husband Claude of Canada and Anita (DiPietro) Druin of California. Muffie was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her uncle Ross Carobene and his wife Antionette of Stoneham.
A Funeral Service celebrating Muffie's life will be held on Friday at 11 am in the Chapel of the Joseph Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
