Malcolm L. Card, beloved husband of Mary (O'Leary) Card, passed away on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, he is the beloved son of the late Malcolm and Katherine (Rooney) Card.
Malcolm grew up in Malden and was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School. He earned his Bachelor Degree and Master's Degree from Southern New Hampshire University. A proud veteran, Malcolm served in the United States Air Force.
Malcolm met the love of his life Mary as they attended Salem State College in 1964. They married and settled in North Cambridge to raise their family. For many years, Malcolm worked as an electrical engineer for Hewlett Packard, until his retirement. Malcolm enjoyed fishing and was a lover of New England Sports teams. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to being the loving husband of Mary, he is the devoted father of Thomas Card and Kimberly Chelf of Reading and Bryan and Amy Card of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Cherished grandfather of Thomas, Jr., Meighan, Allison and Keighley Card. Beloved brother of Paula and Jim Neville, Debbie Penney, Carol Card and Deborah Dunmire and William and Lorrie Card. Loving brother-in-law of Dorothea Glew and her husband Dr. Richard Glew and the late Thomas O' Leary and his wife Gail. Malcolm is the uncle of many nieces and nephews and leaves a large and loving extended family and dear friends.
Funeral Service to be held from the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St.and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) On Friday, June 21st at 9:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading at 10:30am. Burial to follow in Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home on Thursday, June 20th, 2024 from 4 to 7pm.
