Manuel DaCunha Santos of Stoneham, formerly of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at his home. He was 74 years of age.
Born in Graciosa, Azores, Manuel was the loving son of the late Manuel Sousa Santos and Rosa (da Gloria Cunha) Santos. Manuel was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Manuel was a dedicated employee of Boston University for over 30 years. He loved his family. They were first and foremost in his life. Manuel enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a devoted member of the American Civic League in Somerville and the Santos Cristo Club in Cambridge.
Manuel was the beloved husband of Maria (Teixeira) Santos. He was the devoted father of Maria Vieira and her husband Michael of Peabody, Manuel N. Santos of Washington, Jenni Bettencourt and her husband John of Stoneham and Elaine Resendes and her husband Joe of New Hampshire. Manuel was the cherished grandfather of Paul, Scott and Lauren Vieira, Justin, Joshua and Jordyn Bettencourt and Amanda, and Evan Resendes. He was the dear brother of 3 brothers and sisters in law and also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Manuel's life in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Tuesday 4-8pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
