Margaret M. (Dantos) Leavitt



Margaret M. (Dantos) Leavitt of Stoneham, formerly of Everett & Malden, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at her home.



Born in Tewksbury, she was the daughter of the late Catherine Chisolm. Margaret was a warm and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. She had a great love of family and will be missed by all.



Margaret was a dedicated homemaker for many years. She was a graduate of Malden Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1933. She worked many years at the Malden Hospital. Margaret also worked at Tufts Boston Floating Hospital and at Woodlawn Manor Nursing Center in Everett upon retiring in 1977 Woodlawn Manor named one of their buildings in her honor Leavitt 1 and Leavitt 2. Margaret enjoyed theatre, music and was an avid Red Sox fan. She was a loving woman who will be remembered for her love and charm.



Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Linwood P. Leavitt. She was the devoted mother of Kathy L. Mabius and Paula M. Leavitt. She was the cherished grandmother of Jennifer and David Mabius.



Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Friday 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Margaret's life in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Thursday 4-7pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
