Margaret R. "Peggy" (O'Neill) Smith of Stoneham passed away Wednesday November 17, 2004 at the Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett. She was 78 years of age.
Born in Newark, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Phillip J. and Irene (Coward) O'Neill. She was a graduate of St. Francis deSales High School in Ohio class of 1943. She was a resident of Stoneham for fifty years. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all.
Peggy loved her family. They were first and foremost in her life. She had a warm and gentle smile and a wonderful sense of humor that embraced everyone who knew her. She enjoyed painting, quilting, tennis and was an avid gardener.
Peggy was the mother of Beverly A. Thompson and her husband Bob of Tewksbury, Patrick S. Smith and his wife Denise of Cincinnati OH., Barbara J. Smith of Stoneham, Steven R. Smith and his wife Linda of Freeport, Fl. and loving grandmother of Lisa J. Thompson, Justin Smith and Amanda Smith. She was the dear sister of Bill O'Neill and his wife Betty of Newark, OH., Mary Rose O'Neill of Dallas, TX., the late Joe O'Neill of Tulsa, OK., Francie Holmes of Newark, OH., and aunt of Phillip O'Neill of OH.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Sunday 2-6pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
