Margaret Sue (Farrell) Rora – Born August 1, 1958 to the late Edward J. Farrell and Delores (Shantz) Farrell, passed into eternal life on November 2, 2023 ending a protracted battle with glioblastoma. She grew up in Decatur, Illinois where she met her husband of more than 45 years, Michael R. Rora. After their marriage, Margaret graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in computer science and was hired by IBM. Her work with IBM over the course of thirty-six years took her and her family to Endicott, New York and then to Stoneham, Massachusetts as she managed teams across the country and abroad developing major projects for the company. While Margaret had a wildly successful career and worked diligently for IBM, she was foremost a devoted wife and loving mother to her husband and three children.
Margaret was an exceptional knitter, crafting sundry articles of clothing for friends and family over the course of many years and a skilled gardener. She cherished time with her family, walking the dogs, parish life at St. Patrick’s in Stoneham, and especially annual family gatherings at Turkey Run State Park in Indiana.
Margaret is survived by her husband Michael R. Rora, their three children Mary K. Alexander and her husband Brice, Rev. Michael S. Rora, and John P. Rora and his wife Lisa, along with her grandchildren Kiwi Alexander, Finn Alexander, and Alanna Rora. She is also survived by her siblings John Farrell and his wife Suzie, Janice Pea and her husband Bruce, Mary Stewart and her husband Keith, Martha Farrell and her husband Michael Cotton, and Edward Farrell along with many nieces and nephews.
