Maria Alda (Rodrigues) Martins

Maria Alda (Rodrigues) Martins of Somerville passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home on Friday, November 12, 2021. She is 94 years of age.

Born on August 20, 1927 in Madeira, Portugal, Maria Alda is the loving daughter of the late Francisco Rodrigues and Ana (Lucas) Rodrigues. Maria Alda is a warm, kind and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed.

Maria Alda is the beloved wife of the late Agostinho Martins. She is the devoted mother of Maria Eugenia Ferreira and her husband Nelson, Albert Martins and his wife Dolores and the late Maria Eugenia Martins and Carlos Alberto Martins. The cherished grandmother of Yvette Kalogerakis and her husband Speiro, Gregory Ferreira and his girlfriend Kristina, Jennifer Martins and her wife Maura, Nicole Cannon and her husband Andrew, Maria Alda is the doting great grandmother of Alexis and Nicole Kalogerakis and Carlie Cannon. She is the dear sister of the late Alvaro, Agostinho, Arnaldo and Raul Rodrigues, Rosa Serrao, Antonio and Maria Rodrigues. Maria Alda is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Maria Alda's Eternal Life will be held on Wednesday, November 17th at 11:30am in Saint Ann's Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Maria's family prior to the Mass from 8:30 – 11am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street, STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
