Maria L. (DiGangi) Colotti, of Stoneham, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday January 6th, 2026. She was 74 years of age.
Born and raised in Stoneham, Maria was the daughter of Mario and Lena (Badamo) DiGangi. She graduated from Stoneham High School in 1969. Maria later met the love of her life, Carmen, and they were married on May 22, 1976, sharing just shy of fifty wonderful years together.
Maria enjoyed cooking for her family and was especially known for her meatballs and sauce. She loved watching the Red Sox and the Patriots, a passion she proudly passed on to both of her boys. When they were younger, she spent countless summer days by the pool with them, creating memories they will always cherish. Maria also treasured the time she spent with her sister, Janice, with whom she spoke every day.
In 2020, Maria became a grandmother for the first time with the birth of Matthew, who lovingly called her “Nana.” Soon after, Josephine arrived, blessing Maria with the granddaughter she had always dreamed of. Maria spent countless hours with both grandchildren playing, reading, and coloring, but most importantly teaching them the kindness she was so well known for. Matthew and Josephine brought Maria immense joy and gave her a deep sense of purpose.
Maria is the beloved wife of Carmen Colotti. She is the cherished mother of Michael Colotti and his wife Janet and the late Carmen Colotti. Devoted grandmother of Matthew and Josephine Colotti. Dear sister of Janice Oliveri and her husband Anthony and the late Dennis DiGangi. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
