Maria (Secondini) Gargano

Maria (Secondini) Gargano, age 96, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cassino, Italy on December 13, 1926. She immigrated to the US via Ellis Island in 1948. She settled in Stoneham and lived there until 2020 when she moved to Needham to live with her daughter Jean Jalali where she was lovingly cared for by her family until her death.

Maria always put family first. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Maria was active and thrived into her early 90's. She enjoyed walking, gardening and cooking for her family and friends. She was Vice President of the Italian Women's Society of Stoneham and cherished her friendships there. Maria loved the ocean and was happiest spending time with her family at her summer home on Cape Cod.

Maria is the beloved wife of the late Giovanni Gargano. She is the loving mother of Jean Jalali and her husband Ali, Suzanne Riley and her husband William and the late Diana Gargano. Devoted grandmother of Melissa Jalali, Diana Riley and Sean Riley. Dear sister of the late Domenico Secondini and his late wife Ida, the late Filomena Marrocco and her late husband John and the late Luigi Secondini. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with her family on Saturday October 14, 2023 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM from 9:30 am to 11 am followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Maria's Eternal Life at 11. Parking attendants and elevator available.  Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
