DeSousa, Maria Lucia "Lucy" (Faleiro) of Somerville passed away on Wednesday December 4th at the age of 88.  Beloved wife of the late Eduardo C. DeSousa.  Devoted mother of Edward X. DeSousa of North Reading. Stephen P. DeSousa and his wife Lara of Lexington.  Cherished grandmother of Edward, Kristine, who she helped raise as children, Melina and Adriana.  Adored great grandmother of Ashley, Lucia, Noah and Matthew.  Dear sister of the late Maria Jose Bento, Marquelino Faleiro, Jose Faleiro, Francisco Chico Faleiro, Maria Luisa and Alfredo Faleiro.  Lucy also loved her sister in-law Liliana as her daughter and thankful to her brother in-law, Fernando who helped her and her husband establish themselves in the USA.   Lucy immigrated from Portugal in 1966 with Eduardo with nothing more than a suitcase.  Lucy worked hard in sweatshops to fulfill the American dream of a better life for her family, while sacrificing theirs.  The toughest woman most will ever know.   Arrangements by the Cota Funeral Home 335 Park St,.
