Marie C. (Olson) Gill, resident of Stoneham and formerly of Charlestown, entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Winchester Hospital in Winchester, Massachusetts. She was 91 years of age.
Marie was born in Malden on February 26, 1930, a daughter of the late George Olson and Marie (Smith) Olson. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Marie worked as a teller for the Shawmut Bank and as a secretary at different branches of the Federal Government. She was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association. Marie enjoyed spending time with her friends, shopping, reading, crossword puzzles and traveling. She was an avid Celtics fan. Family was Marie's greatest joy and she cherished every minute she could spend with them.
Marie is the beloved wife of Andrew J. Gill. She is the devoted mother of Patrick and Vicki, Robert and Robin, Michael and Christine and Mary. Marie is the loving Nana to Courtney, Kelcey, Michael, John, Thomas and Richard and her great-grandsons, JT and Grayson.
Marie was predeceased by her sisters Barbara Shannon and her husband Thomas and Rita Butler and her husband, Warren. She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Francis Gill and his wife Cecelia, John Gill and Joseph Gill. Marie is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Funeral Mass Celebrating Marie's Eternal Life will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 10am in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street Stoneham. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Marie's Family prior to the Mass from 8am – 9:30am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
Facial coverings are required while inside both the Funeral Home and Church.
