Mario A. Clivio of Woburn passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011 in New Hampshire. He was 91 years of age.
Born in Charlestown, Mario was the loving son of the late Nichols and Anna (Dicesare) Clivio. Mario was a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sorely missed.
Mario was a resident of Woburn for 54 years. He loved golf and gardening. He was the owner of M&S Transportation for 27 years. Mario was a member of Bear Hill Country Club.
During World War II, Mario proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Marine.
Mario was the beloved husband for 54 years of Louise (Snow) Clivio. Devoted father of Andrew J. Clivio and his wife Diane of Worcester and Lisa L. Clivio-Wentrup and her husband David of Newport, NH. Cherished grandfather of Ashley, Melissa, Jessica and Michael. Dear brother of Dorothea Mayo of Andover and the late Ernest A. Clivio, Gloria Pomponi, Leona Pignone, and Sergio R. Clivio. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Mario's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
