Mario Travaglione

March 2, 1924 — January 3, 2006

Mario Travaglione of Stoneham passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. He was 81 years of age.





Born in Boston, Mario was the beloved son of the late Vincent Travaglione and Anita (Mucci) Travaglione. Mario was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.





Mario was the dedicated owner of the Hub Bowling Alley and M & M Cleaners, both in the North End of Boston. He was devoted to his family. They were first and foremost in his life. Mario was also an avid Red Sox fan. He spent time in Florida during Spring Training with the Red Sox.





Mario was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Gasbarro) Travaglione. He was the devoted father of Richard Travaglione and his wife Linda, Donna DiPersio and her husband Joseph, and Bruce Travaglione and his wife Laura, all of Stoneham. Mario was the cherished grandfather of Richard Travaglione Jr., Jason, Paul, Michael, Pamela and Steven Travaglione, Nicholas, Christopher and the late Michael DiPersio. He was the dear brother of Edith Caparella of Randolph, Mary Fantasia of Raynham, Armando Travaglione of Somerville, Harry Travaglione of Raynham, Ronald Travaglione of N. Reading and the late John and Ralph Travaglione, Felicia Solimine, Rose Bowe and Luigi Travaglione.





Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Mario's life in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Friday 3-8pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Entombment Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
