Marjorie J. "Joan" (Tate) Wilson of Stoneham passed away May 24, 2003 at her home. She was 76 years of age.

Born in Chicago, Mrs. Wilson lived in New York before moving to Medford where she grew up. She graduated from Medford High School in 1945. During her senior year, she was the only female allowed into her senior review math class, where she scored a straight A average. Joan had a love for her family that went unparalleled. She was a devoted homemaker for several years. Joan was an avid reader and it wasn't unusual for her to complete two to three books a week. She loved to sew and go camping in her tent trailer with her family.

Joan was the beloved wife of 52 years to James Wilson Jr. She was the devoted mother of James T. Wilson of RI and Barbara J. Pesaturo of Stoneham. Joan was the cherished grandmother of Katherine Pesaturo. She was the dear sister of Elizabeth Tate of Stoneham and the late Patricia Perryman.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. STONEHAM Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Tuesday 3-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Joan to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Scholarship Fund, 170 Governors Ave., Medford MA 02155.
