Martha M. (Moran) Bailey of Reading, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. She was 87 years of age.



Born in Everett, Martha was the loving daughter of the late Lillian Maude (Nickerson) Moran and Ernest Henry Moran. Martha was a very loving and lovable daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.



Martha was a longtime member of the Pacemakers Club of Reading. At the age of 50, after raising her five sons, Martha learned to drive and started a very successful career as a caretaker and companion. She was a very spiritual person who made friends easily and would light up a room. She loved to play games and was highly skilled at Scrabble, Bingo, Cribbage, Sudoku and similar games.



Martha was the beloved mother of Roy W. Bailey and his wife Diane of Lyman, NH, George E. Bailey and his wife Janet of Saratoga Springs, NY, Scott K. Bailey and his wife Pamela of Mont Vernon, NH, Jeffrey C. Bailey and his wife Joanne of Fort Collins, Colorado and the late Donald C. Bailey. She was the Cherished grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 5. Martha is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, her very close friend in life Rose McLaughlin of Reading and many friends from Reading, Cedar Glen and the Wingate Nursing Home.



A Memorial Service celebrating Martha's life will be scheduled in the Spring. The family requests you honor Martha with donations to Wingate at Reading, 1364 Main Street, Reading, MA 01867 in appreciation for the outstanding care that their nurses and staff provided for their beloved mother.
